LoopmasterM

LoopmasterM

When LoopmasterM  arrived at Aurobora, she explained that she wanted to make work from existing materials stocked in the studio and be dictated by random systems and approaches.   LoopmasterM’s periodic visits to Aurobora are integral to her process: sometimes the artist arrives with bags of select ephemera (deconstructed consumer packaging, antique songbooks, shoe polish) that she collects over the course of any given week.  She uses this material as a launch pad into a new body of work, incorporating existing studio supplies (etching inks, gesso, acrylic house paint, wax, tape, pencils, etc.) as an “outside” system dictates (“When you live off a dirt road you learn that improvisation is a necessity and that everything has hidden potential…”). Each studio session progresses organically and the work LoopmasterM creates connects aesthetically to some previous effort that orbits around her signature gestures and unexpected juxtaposition of materials.
